The ClockGen series consists in a set of overclocking programes, each of them being dedicated to one or several mainboards. A ClockGen software allow to dynamically overclock several devices of your system : CPU, memory, AGP and PCI bus. About ClockGen ClockGen is an program dedicated to overclocking. Its main purpose is to change the system clocks on the fly : FSB (Front Side Bus) and GSB (Graphic Side Bus). ClockGen also provides some functions that allow you to improve and monitor your overclock. ClockGen does not need to be installed. Just unzip all files in the same directory and run ClockGen.exe. Your ClockGen settings will be saved in a file named clockgen.ini stored in your temporary account path (typically : C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp). If you want to remove this file from your system, run clockgen with the following parameter : ClockGen.exe -u. The main ClockGen window shows available functions on your system, therefore the layout may depend on your system specifications. If ClockGen is able to find a clock generator on your system, the buttons "PLL Control" and "PLL Setup" are present. You first have to select the clock generator (PLL), so click on "PLL Setup". In some cases, ClockGen will be able to detect the PLL that is used by your system, especially if your mainboard is equipped with an nVidia chipset. In this case, you won't be able to change the PLL model, and you can directly go to the "PLL Control" step. Otherwise, the PLL selection will be set on "Not specified" by default. Click on "Read Clocks" and you will see the registers dump of your PLL in the IC Dump editor part of the window. However, in order to translate the dump into clocks, ClockGen needs you to tell him what PLL model is on your system, using the PLL drop list. If you don't know exactly what PLL is used by your system, we strongly recommend you follow our directives below to find out what PLL model is used on your system.
ClockGen is a completely free software. You can free download and use it as long as you like.
