SplitCam is a program that allows you to add cool effects to your webcam videos. This program can take video from your webcam, an image or video file, or your computer´s desktop. The specified video source can then be used in any instant messaging application you use, e.g. Windows Live Messenger: you can transmit the video from this program by selecting the SplitCam source in your messenger. This way, you can use all the video effects that the program can add to your video, not only the raw images that it takes. The program gives access to your webcam, so you can edit its configuration, as well as take snapshots from the video and save them to disk.

This program allows to select the frames per second that you will use for your image. You can apply several filters to the image that the program sends, like flip it horizontally or vertically, deinterlace the image, change it to black and white, or use several types of contours and gradients. You can also pick different backgrounds from several images included in the program, apply frames, use face items and avatars, and add text or time to the image you are sending.
SplitCam is a completely free software. You can free download and use it as long as you like.
