Yahtzee was invented by a Canadian couple to play on their yacht. The game was enjoyed by all their friends which led them to Edwin Lowe the toy maker. They agreed to sell Lowe the rights to the game, who named it Yahtzee and began selling the game in 1956. Many dice and card games have an interesting history - poker has been a classic card game in the United States since the early 1800s, when it was played on riverboats on the Mississippi River. In recent years, the popularity of online poker sites for real money has exploded, resulting in thousands of people learning how to play poker.
